How much does mulching cost?
It depends on the size of the beds and how much mulch they need, so I quote per job with the mulch included. The quote's free and there's no obligation. Get a quick quote here or give me a call and I'll sort it on the spot.
Do you supply the mulch?
Yes — quality mulch supplied and spread is part of the job. I'll recommend the right type for your beds and plants, and the cost of the mulch is included in your quote so there are no surprises.
What type of mulch is best?
It depends on your beds. Bark and woodchip mulches look smart and last well around shrubs and trees; sugarcane or lucerne break down faster and feed the soil, which suits veggie and flower beds. I'll suggest what works best for yours.
How often should I re-mulch?
Most Shire gardens like a top-up once a year, usually heading into the warmer months so the beds hold moisture through summer. Faster-breaking mulches may want refreshing more often — I'll let you know what to expect.
Will mulch really cut my watering?
Yes — a good layer of mulch shades the soil, slows evaporation and keeps the roots cooler, so your beds hold moisture far longer between waterings. It's one of the best things you can do for a garden through a Shire summer.
Do I need to be home?
No need at all. As long as I can get to the beds (a side gate is perfect), I'll do the job and leave it spotless with the gate latched behind me. Plenty of customers are at work or out and about when I come.
